| Thanks to the Hamden Historical Society for providing this April 1924 delivery photo of a new 350 g.p.m. Stutz pumper to the Whitneyville Annex Volunteer Fire Co. 6. The gentleman turning the manual siren is identified as August Schoepfer. The man in the driver's seat is not identified. The company was renamed Merritt Street Co. 6 the following year. |

Sunday, March 10, 1957 - John O'Hare's daughter visits her dad at Station 6. The 1930 Maxim pumper was already an antique.

Station 6 Home Movie!
January 1969
Harold Mangler and Frank Cubbellotti were on duty at Station 6 when someone took an 8mm home movie there. The fire station was still owned by the Merritt Street volunteers, although they had not been active for several years. The quality of the film isn't too bad. There are occasional "pop-ups" that provide some additional information about the station, the apparatus and the guys who worked there that day. Enjoy!
