Honoring Frank

Nov. 22 - Jim Moore, Tom Doherty and Mark Barletta present Mary Critchett with an HFRA memorial plaque honoring the memory of her husband, Lt. Frank Critchett, who passed away October 10th at age 60. Frank was on the job from 1981 until his retirement several years ago.
"Loved his family, firefighting, and the Pittsburgh Steelers."

11/22 - Fire department war stories were flying Monday afternoon at Eli's Pizza, as Jim Moore, Tom Doherty, Dave Johnson and Mark Barletta met with Mary Critchett to make a presentation.  Mary's husband, retired Lieut. Frank Critchett, passed away October 10th in Derby Hospital after a long illness.

On behalf the members of the HFRA, Jim presented Mary with a memorial plaque honoring Frank with a personalized tribute to his love of family, firefighting and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Mary thanked the members of the HFRA for the memorial plaque, and said she was deeply gratified by the turnout of active and retired Hamden firefighters at Frank's calling hours and funeral service last month.

Mary Critchett is the first widow of a Hamden firefighter to be recommended for honorary membership in the Association.

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing this past weekend of retired Hamden fire lieutenant Frank Critchett.  He was 60 years old.

Frank was appointed to the Hamden Fire Department in April 1981, and was promoted to Lieutenant in 1987.  He retired in the mid '00s.  Frank was also an active member in the Seymour Fire Department, having once served as Chief.

The funeral service was conducted Thursday morning by Hamden Fire Department Chaplain, Rev. Owen Sanderson.

The members of the Hamden Fire Retirees' Association wish to express our sincere condolences to Frank's family.
