Station 6 - Whitneyville Annex - 21 Merritt Street
The historical outline below is taken from the program for
the Second Annual Hamden Firemen's Memorial Service,
held at Memorial Town Hall on June 10, 1934.

The History Committee for the event consisted of
Messrs. Ralph Eno, Michael J. Whalen, and Harold G. Emerson.

Established in 1921 as the Whitneyville Annex fire company, it became the Merritt Street Fire Co. 6 in 1925. The members are pictured here with their 1924 Stutz 350 g.p.m. pumper, which was retired from service around 1940. (Photo by Arthur J. Tefft, Dixwell Avenue, Centerville)
