Above - January 28, 2011 - Capt. Greg Bannon and Firefighters Jay McCarthy and Rich Lennon do some hydrant excavation on MacArthur Drive.  These photos were taken by retiree Bob Mordecai, who also took the photos below when he was the officer at Station 9.

Below - February 19, 2003 - Firefighters Paul "Froggy" Frodel and Julio Lopes digging out a hydrant in 9's territory.  That snowfall was a "dusting" compared to what is on the ground now.  Hey, whatever happened to those hydrant markers?  (Photos by Bob Mordecai)

HELLO?

Check out the unusual hydrant placement in this Greater New Haven area parking lot that is shared by two restaurants.

Question 1:  Would you get a ticket for parking here?

Question 2:  Who the hell placed this hydrant?  (It is NOT in Hamden.)

Perhaps the parking space should be marked "RESERVED FOR FD ONLY."
