1970 - 1990

September 1970
__________

September 1970 - Truck 2 - Maxim 100' Aerial on the Dixwell Avenue side of Town Hall. L-R: D/C Daniel Hume, Mayor Williams Adams, Chief V. Paul Leddy, Comm. Irving Saslow, and Town Clerk Thomas Raccio. Helmeted firefighter appears to be Jeff Stoehr. Note the CITGO service station on the southwest corner of Whitney and Dixwell where Adams Park is today. __________

This Polaroid photo was found with several others taken over 40 years ago as Hamden awaited delivery of it's second aerial ladder truck.  The 100' Maxim aerial truck has now been gone just as long (20 years) as it was in service (20 years).

Summer 1970 - Hamden's 100' Maxim at the Middleborough, MA factory, awaiting doors and other finishing touches.
